Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner shaking hands after a tennis match
Get ready for fireworks on the court — tennis sensations Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are heading to South Korea for a blockbuster exhibition clash just days before the 2025 Australian Open.
The two superstars will go head-to-head in the Hyundai Card Super Match in Incheon on 10 January, only eight days before the season’s first Grand Slam kicks off in Melbourne.
Organizers have described the event as a historic opportunity for tennis enthusiasts in South Korea:
“For domestic tennis fans, it will be the very first opportunity to see the two top-ranked players compete.”
Both players have taken the tennis world by storm in recent years, dominating major tournaments and turning their rivalry into one of the sport’s most exciting storylines.
Between them, Alcaraz and Sinner have won nine of the last ten Grand Slam titles, cementing their status as the new faces of men’s tennis.
Their duels have been nothing short of epic — from Alcaraz’s thrilling victory in the French Open final, to Sinner’s revenge triumph at Wimbledon, and most recently, Alcaraz’s sixth Grand Slam win at the US Open in September.
Currently, Sinner holds the world No. 1 spot, reclaiming it after a strong win over Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Paris Masters, which placed him 250 points ahead of Alcaraz.
Despite the rankings, Alcaraz still leads their head-to-head record with 10 wins to Sinner’s five, setting the stage for another classic encounter.
With both players in peak form and the Australian Open just around the corner, the exhibition promises to be more than just a warm-up — it’s a preview of the battles to come.
For fans, it’s a rare treat: two of the world’s best young talents facing off in a city that’s quickly becoming a hotspot for international sports events.
