Martin Odegaard Nears Arsenal Return After Knee Injury, Trains On Anti-Gravity Machine
Good News For Arsenal Fans — Captain Martin Odegaard Is Getting Closer To Full Fitness.
After weeks on the sidelines battling injuries, the Norwegian midfielder has offered a hopeful update, revealing he’s now running again — thanks to the help of an anti-gravity treadmill.
This season hasn’t been easy for the Gunners’ playmaker. Odegaard has struggled with a series of injuries, starting with a shoulder issue in August against Leeds United. He aggravated the same shoulder in September during the Nottingham Forest clash, which forced him to miss several games.
Just as he seemed ready to bounce back, October brought another setback — a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in his left knee after a knee-to-knee collision with Crysencio Summerville during Arsenal’s 2–0 win over West Ham United.
The club’s medical team had hinted his recovery could take several weeks and possibly extend past the November international break. But the captain’s latest comments show encouraging progress.
“It’s going well and I’m progressing a lot,” Odegaard told Goal. “I’ve started moving around more, and I’ve been running on the anti-gravity machine this week. It’s hard work, but nice to feel that progression – it gives you more motivation.”
So, what exactly is this anti-gravity machine Odegaard is using?
It’s a high-tech treadmill that uses pressurised air to reduce an athlete’s effective body weight — often by up to 80% — allowing them to run or walk without putting full pressure on injured joints.
This technology helps maintain cardiovascular fitness and muscle coordination while easing the strain on healing tissues — perfect for players like Odegaard recovering from ligament damage.
With the Premier League heating up and Arsenal pushing for silverware, Mikel Arteta will be eager to have his creative leader back in full rhythm soon.
And if this update is anything to go by, Odegaard’s return is right around the corner — with plenty of motivation and cutting-edge rehab behind him.
