Harry Kane To Plant A Forest?! Reflo Launches Incredible Eco-Friendly Pledge For FA Cup Clash Between Luton And Forest Green Rovers
It’s not every day that football meets forestry—but Harry Kane’s brand Reflo is changing the game both on and off the pitch. Ahead of Friday’s FA Cup first-round clash between Jack Wilshere’s Luton Town and Robbie Savage’s Forest Green Rovers, the performance-wear brand has announced an incredible environmental initiative that’s set to make football a little greener—literally.
In what’s now being dubbed “The Reflo Derby,” the two clubs—both partnered with Kane’s eco-conscious brand—will compete not just for FA Cup glory but for the planet. Reflo has pledged to plant a minimum of 1,000 trees after the match, plus another 1,000 trees for every goal scored. So, every strike could mean a greener Earth and a cleaner game.
Both teams are already known for their forward-thinking approach to sustainability. Forest Green Rovers—officially recognized as the world’s first vegan football club—will don their Reflo kits made entirely from recycled materials. Their CEO, Dale Vince, called it a “perfect celebration of progress,” emphasizing how sports can lead the charge toward sustainability.
Luton Town is also joining the eco-revolution. The club has pledged to plant a tree for every goal scored while wearing their third kit and is working to make their upcoming Power Court Stadium—set to open by 2028—one of the most environmentally friendly sports arenas in the UK.
Reflo’s co-founder, Rory MacFadyen, described the initiative as “a celebration of progress,” adding that “football has a unique power to inspire change.”
With both teams taking sustainability as seriously as silverware, this FA Cup tie goes beyond goals—it’s about growth, responsibility, and the beautiful game making a beautiful difference.
At Sports Market International, we celebrate stories like this—where innovation, sport, and sustainability collide to create real impact. Because the best kind of victory is one that benefits the planet too.
