PSG Get Ousmane Dembele And Desire Doue Boost As French Duo Near Return From Injury Ahead Of Strasbourg Clash
Paris Saint-Germain are finally getting some good news on the injury front ahead of their Ligue 1 clash with Strasbourg. French wingers Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue are both nearing full fitness, with Dembele back in team training after recovering from a hamstring problem and Doue shaking off a calf issue.
The timing couldn’t be better — the Ligue 1 champions have been dealing with an injury crisis that tested their squad depth early in the 2025-26 season. But with key players returning, coach Luis Enrique can breathe a little easier as PSG aim to maintain their spot among the top four in Ligue 1.
Injury Returns Brighten PSG’s Prospects
Ballon d’Or winner and French superstar Dembele had been out since early September with a severe right-hamstring injury. After weeks of rehab at Aspetar, Qatar, he has resumed collective training and could even make the squad against Strasbourg on Friday, according to L’Équipe.
Desire Doue has also rejoined full training after recovering from a calf problem. The return of the two creative attackers adds pace and spark to PSG’s frontline, which has struggled for consistency in recent weeks. Midfielder Fabian Ruiz remains under light protection following a minor muscle strain but is not expected to be sidelined for long.
Patience Still Needed For Key Figures
While Dembele and Doue are close to full fitness, PSG’s medical team still has a few players under watch. Joao Neves continues his thigh-injury recovery, and Bradley Barcola is yet to shake off his quadriceps pain. Youngster Senny Mayulu should return on Friday, but captain Marquinhos will miss the Strasbourg clash and the Champions League trip to Bayer Leverkusen as he works back from a quadriceps problem.
In addition, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is being monitored to prevent fatigue after returning from international duty — a reminder that PSG’s medical team is balancing recovery with match readiness across the board.
PSG’s Dominant Home Record Fuels Title Ambitions
Despite the injury setbacks, PSG remain firm Ligue 1 title contenders. After seven matchdays, the Champions League winners sit top of the table with 16 points, ahead of Marseille.
Luis Enrique’s men boast a perfect 3-0 home record this season, with three clean sheets — extending their formidable run of 16 home league wins. Historically, PSG have never lost to Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes, winning their last six meetings and scoring at least three goals in four of those.
With Dembele’s flair and Doue’s creativity soon back on display, PSG fans can expect the team to push harder for dominance both domestically and in Europe.
