Man City Told To Brace For Verdict On 115 Charges As Decision Is ‘Almost Out’
Manchester City are reportedly on the brink of receiving a long-awaited verdict regarding their 115 charges of alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. The saga, which began in February 2023, has stretched on for nearly two years — but according to legal experts, the decision is now “imminent.”
Verdict Long Overdue
A ruling on Manchester City’s charges was initially expected earlier this year, but several delays have pushed the outcome further down the line. Frustration has mounted among fans and clubs alike as speculation continues over what the potential punishment might be.
Penalties could range from points deductions to title strips, though insiders believe City remain confident of clearing their name. The club has consistently maintained its innocence and insists all operations have been conducted within Premier League rules.
“No Excuse For More Delay” – Legal Expert
Legal expert Stefan Borson told talkSPORT that the independent panel has had more than enough time to deliver a verdict.
“It’s very, very simple. They have not had the decision of the panel yet. I think now there’s no real excuse for a further delay. Even if they’ve been busy, ten months is enough to produce even a 500-page decision. I think it is imminent.”
Borson went on to say he expects the decision to be released before the end of 2025, adding that it’s highly unlikely the case would spill into 2026.
Guardiola’s Calm Before The Storm
Despite the uncertainty, Pep Guardiola remains composed. The Manchester City manager has stated that he and the club will respect the outcome — whatever it may be.
“I am happy that it starts soon and hopefully it will finish soon, for the benefit of all of us,” Guardiola said. “We will accept the decision, like we always have done.”
As the football world waits for clarity, one thing is certain — this verdict could reshape not only Manchester City’s legacy but also the broader Premier League landscape.
