Lagos Will Remain State of Champions, Says Sanwo-Olu’s Aide, Orimoloye
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday recognised and rewarded the triumphant Team Lagos to the 2025 National Youth Games, held in Asaba, Delta State. The state reception held at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos saw the elated Sanwo-Olu doling out mouth-watering prize money to the athletes and officials of the state team that came tops at the game.
Speaking during the reception, Hon. Damilare Orimoloye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, expressed his gratitude to the State Governor, who he described as a huge inspiration to the youths of the state. He thanked the Governor for hosting the event and for his steadfast belief in the potential of Lagos youth.
The youthful sports administrator who is renowned for his several youth engagement and development programmes through sports, went ahead to congratulate the athletes and acknowledged the coaches and officials, calling their effort “a living example of the Lagos spirit, of excellence in action.”
He added, “this event is more than a reception. It is a statement that Lagos is serious about sports, serious about youth, and serious about shaping a generation of champions.”
