Wilfred Ndidi: Super Eagles Won’t Give Up On 2026 World Cup Dream

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has assured fans that the team will keep fighting to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite a challenging qualifying campaign.

The three-time African champions have managed just two wins from eight matches, leaving them third in Group C with 11 points. To have any hope of reaching the mundial, the Super Eagles must not only win their remaining games against Lesotho and Benin Republic, but also rely on joint leaders Benin and South Africa dropping points.

Ndidi Focused On Lesotho Clash

Ndidi stressed that the team understands the gravity of the situation and will take it one game at a time.

“We know where we are at the moment, and these two games are really crucial,” Ndidi told the Super Eagles media.

“Firstly, we’ll focus on the game against Lesotho before turning our attention to Benin. What is most important right now is the game against Benin.”

Moffi Confident Of Qualification

Meanwhile, striker Terem Moffi expressed confidence that Nigeria can still turn things around in the qualifiers.

“We the guys, we’re really confident about qualifying for the World Cup,” Moffi declared.

“We have to do our part and wait for the result of the other teams. We are confident that things will go our way.”

The Road Ahead

The Super Eagles know the task ahead will not be easy. With the group table tightly contested, every point will be crucial in determining whether Nigeria makes it to North America in 2026.

For fans, the hope is that Ndidi’s leadership and the team’s fighting spirit will inspire a strong finish to the campaign.
