TS Galaxy Secure Super Eagles Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole on Two-Year Contract

South African Premier Division side TS Galaxy have officially announced the signing of Kayode Bankole, a promising Super Eagles goalkeeper, on a two-year deal.

The 22-year-old shot stopper joins the Rockets as a free agent after departing NPFL champions Remo Stars at the end of last season. His contract with the Sky Blue Stars expired following a successful five-year spell.

Bankole’s Rise with Remo Stars

Bankole emerged as one of the standout young goalkeepers in the Nigeria Premier Football League, playing a pivotal role in Remo Stars’ rise to the top of Nigerian football.

Appearances: 93
Clean Sheets: 43
Tenure: 5 years

His commanding presence between the sticks and consistent performances helped Remo Stars clinch the 2023/24 NPFL title, drawing attention from multiple top clubs in Nigeria and abroad.

Why TS Galaxy?

Despite interest from several top-flight Nigerian clubs, Bankole opted for a move abroad, marking his first professional stint outside Nigeria.

TS Galaxy’s acquisition of the young goalkeeper signals their intent to strengthen their squad with fresh international talent, particularly one with national team experience.

International Career

Bankole has already made his debut for the Super Eagles, earning a cap in what is expected to be a long-term role in Nigeria’s national team setup. His move to a competitive league like South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) could further enhance his chances of regular call-ups.

What They’re Saying

Though TS Galaxy are yet to release an official statement from the club’s management, the move is already being well received by fans on social media, with many praising the club for snapping up a young, high-potential international player.

Looking Ahead

With goalkeeping often being a position that matures with age, Kayode Bankole’s move to TS Galaxy represents a smart career step and a potential long-term investment for the Rockets. All eyes will be on how quickly the young Nigerian international can adapt to the PSL and push for the No. 1 shirt.
