Martin Zubimendi Urges Arsenal to Keep Champions League Momentum Going
Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi has encouraged his teammates to stay focused and maintain their winning momentum in the UEFA Champions League following their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Olympiacos.
The Spanish international, who joined the Gunners in the summer, is quickly making his presence felt in Mikel Arteta’s midfield, showing both composure and leadership in Europe’s top competition.
“We Want to Win as Many Games as Possible”
Speaking to the club’s official website after the win, Zubimendi reflected on the intensity of the match and the importance of building consistency:
“It was really demanding. We started really well but at the end they pushed a lot in the second half. I think we suffered in some moments where we shouldn’t have.
“We want to keep the momentum and win as many games as possible. We will recover well and prepare for the next game against West Ham.”
Settling In at the Emirates
Zubimendi also touched on his adaptation to English football and the Arsenal squad:
“The adaptation has been good, but I think I can do it better. It’s true that the team is amazing, the staff gave me a lot of confidence. The feeling on the pitch is good, but I think I have more to do in this club.”
His comments show both humility and hunger — two traits that have already endeared him to fans at the Emirates.
Arsenal on Track in Europe
With back-to-back wins over Athletic Club and Olympiacos, Arsenal now sit at the top of their Champions League group. The team looks well-positioned to qualify for the knockout stages, especially with strong performances from newcomers like Zubimendi.
Their next challenge comes in the Premier League, where they face West Ham in a bid to continue their form across all competitions.
Final Thoughts
Zubimendi’s message is clear: stay focused, stay united, and keep pushing. As Arsenal look to make a deep run in the Champions League this season, the Spanish midfielder’s growing influence could be key.
His desire to contribute, improve, and lead is a positive sign — not just for Mikel Arteta’s current campaign, but for Arsenal’s long-term ambitions in Europe and beyond.
