Bayern Turn To Chelsea’s Jackson Amid Nkunku Talks Stall

After seeing a move for Christopher Nkunku stall in the last few days, Bayern Munich have registered interest in another Chelsea forward.

Bayern Munich have been working on a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea since VfB Stuttgart closed a door to Nick Woltemade’s move to Bavaria this summer. The defending champions may move for Woltemade in the future, but for now, the focus is on signing another forward before the end of the summer transfer window.

Rekordmeister have decided to focus on signing a forward on a loan deal instead of a permanent transfer. They had approached Chelsea to sign Nkunku on a loan deal, but the Premier League club is pushing for a permanent transfer. As things stand, Nkunku’s move to Bayern has stalled.

In the meantime, Bayern have registered interest in another Chelsea forward to strengthen the attack. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have enquired about the conditions to sign Nicolas Jackson before the deadline day.

Sky Sports in Germany has also reported that Bayern have enquired about Jackson. The German media outlet had previously reported that Die Roten were collecting all the information to sign the Senegalese striker.

Jackson is looking to leave Chelsea this summer as they have signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to strengthen the number nine position. The 24-year-old striker has not been part of Chelsea’s squad in their two Premier League games this season.

Bayern will face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United for the signing of Jackson. Chelsea reportedly value him at £80 million. With time running out in the window and further incomings depending on departures at Stamford Bridge, Bayern will try to sign Jackson on a loan deal.

Jackson will provide depth across the attack
Even though Chelsea have consistently used Jackson as a number nine during the last two seasons, he can also play on the flanks or behind a striker. He can provide depth across the attack and deputise for Kane in the number nine position whenever the English forward needs rest.

Jackson will also fit well in Kompany’s aggressive pressing setup. The Senegalese works hard off the ball and has a great eye for a killer pass in the final third. Jackson needs to get more efficient with his finishing, but he still has a decent record of 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea. With prime years of his career ahead of him, Jackson should certainly get better in front of the goal.

It will be intriguing to see who from Chelsea eventually ends up at Bayern before the end of the transfer window. Both players can certainly add more quality to Die Roten’s attack.

Max Eberl denies interest in Jackson
Despite several reports linking Jackson to Bayern, Max Eberl was quick to dismiss Die Roten’s interest in the Senegalese forward. While talking to the media after Bayern’s 6-0 win against RB Leipzig on Friday, Eberl insisted that Jackson is not a topic of discussion at the club. It remains to be seen if the Bavarian club will pursue this deal if they fail to land their primary targets.
