Lagos FA Celebrates Oshoala, Ajibade, Ijamilusi On WAFCON Title
The board and members of Lagos State Football Association, under the Chairmanship of Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, have expressed their untold happiness and joy over the triumph of the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the just concluded WAFCON championship held in Morocco.
Speaking on behalf of the board of the Lagos FA, the highly regarded football administrator described the feat of the Nigeria’s women senior national team as a testament to the never-say-die attitude of the average Nigerian, to surmount challenges and triumph.
He was quick to note the importance and contributions of Lagos grown and developed influential players in the team like the sixth time African Women’s Player Of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcons captain and Most Valuable Player of the WAFCON, Rasheedat Ajibade and new star on the horizon, Folashade Ijamilusi.
“Lagos State Football Association and all the stakeholders and investors in football in this great state are indeed, very proud of your achievements at the just concluded WAFCON championship.
“And we can only thank Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for providing the enabling environment for sports and the youths of this state to thrive and carve a positive career path for themselves through the impactful T.H.E.M.E.S+ of his government,” the awards-winning football administrator stated.
He continued by reaffirming the commitment of his board of the Lagos FA to the development of football in the state and with particular interest in the continued growth and development of girl-child through encouraged and motivated participation in its football activities.
“We want to reassure our partners, sponsors, collaborators and potential investors that we shall continue to improve on activities and programmes to help develop the girl-child through football and of course, enlarge our talents pool.
“We believe that there are many young and talented girls in the moulds of the Osholas, Ajibades and Ijamilusis out there, waiting to be discovered and exposed to the world.
“Many thanks and congratulations to Coach and founder of Robo Queens Football Club, Emmanuel Osahon. It is worthy to note appreciate your immense contributions to Nigerian women’s football, as your painstaking commitments has helped produced three generational stars in Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade and Folashade Ijamilusi.
“Going forward, we’re indeed, committed to doing that and more. Even as it’s our unflinching desire to maintain our pride of place as the home of football in Nigeria,” he further remarked confidently.
