United Stars Make De Gea Feelings Clear Ahead Of Old Trafford Return
David de Gea is set to return to Old Trafford next weekend for the first time since leaving the club in 2023
Bruno Fernandes is one of several Manchester United players to have reacted to David de Gea’s return to England earlier this week.
The 34-year-old left the Reds in July 2023 after 12 years of service at Old Trafford.
Prior to signing with Serie A club Fiorentina, the Spaniard was without a club for the entirety of the 2023-24 season as he pondered his next move.
But since signing with Fiorentina last August, De Gea has made quite the impression in Italy after helping the Serie A side reach the semi-finals of the Conference League last season.
Earlier this week, however, the shot-stopper was back on familiar soil as Fiorentina trained at St George’s Park ahead of friendlies against Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United in the next two weeks.
On Wednesday afternoon, De Gea posted a series of him and his team-mates training at St George’s Park, with the caption: “Back on familiar ground.”
After posting to Instagram, several of De Gea’s former team-mates liked the post, including Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Diogo Dalot.
Fiorentina’s trip to Old Trafford on August 9 will be De Gea’s first to Old Trafford since leaving more than two years ago.
