Federation Cup Finals: Tickets Set, Continental Dreams Alive
Anticipation is building ahead of the grand finale of the 2025 President Federation Cup, scheduled for Saturday, June 28 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Backed by sponsors GTI, the event promises a thrilling double-header as four teams vie for national honours — and in the men’s category, a coveted place on the continental stage.
The day’s proceedings will feature two showpiece matches:
1:00 PM – Nasarawa Amazons vs Rivers Angels (Women’s Final)
4:00 PM – Kwara United vs Abakaliki FC (Men’s Final)
While national glory is on the line for both finals, the stakes are even higher in the men’s final, as the winner will earn Nigeria’s sole ticket to the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
For Kwara United, this presents a golden opportunity to return to the continental scene, while Abakaliki FC, the tournament’s surprise package, will be aiming to cap their fairytale run with a historic title and continental debut.
In the women’s final, perennial rivals Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons will clash in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter. Both sides have a rich history of success in women’s football and are looking to close the season with silverware.
