Sucic Joins Inter After Kovacic’s Advice

Petar Sucic reveals his compatriots Mateo Kovacic, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic all advised him to join Inter: ‘Lautaro Martinez sent me a beautiful message as soon as I signed.’
The Croatia international formally joined the Nerazzurri only a few weeks ago, although he had completed his medical and signed his contract with the Serie A giants in February 2025.
Sucic opens up about Inter transfer
“Everything is going great. It’s a big life and career change, but I strongly wanted it. I’m at a truly massive club, and I want to fully enjoy this experience, both as a footballer and as a person. Of course, I want to win,” the Croatian midfielder told Gazzetta.
Sucic has already made his debut with the Nerazzurri in the Club World Cup.
“I started by taking private Italian lessons over the last few months. I don’t speak it yet, but I understand almost everything, even if sometimes Italians talk really fast,” he said.
“Lautaro sent me a beautiful message as soon as I signed and offered his help, just like a real captain. Others have helped me too. Hakan [Calhanoglu] has been amazing. Mkhitaryan acts as my official translator when needed. He speaks so many languages. Croatian may be the only one he’s missing.”
How about Inter’s new coach, Cristian Chivu?
“He loves what he does, and he shows it. He’s precise in every single training session, and I’ve also noticed another important quality. He speaks directly and says what he thinks to your face,” said Sucic.
Other Serie A clubs wanted Sucic
“He’s not beating around the bush; he gets straight to the point. He hasn’t had any specific requests of me so far. I want to build chemistry with my teammates and understand how to play, how we train and where I’ve arrived. Basically everything.”
The 21-year-old confirmed that other Serie A clubs were interested in his services, but he only wanted to sign for the Nerazzurri.
“It’s true, but I won’t say which ones,” he said.
“When my agent said Inter wanted me, I said, ‘I only want to go there.’ This is a special club also because of all the Croatians who have worn this shirt. Brozovic, Perisic and Kovacic. They all told me the same thing: ‘Go to Inter without even thinking about it.’ Let’s say I just followed their advice.”
Sucic will make a remarkable reunion with his compatriot Luka Modric in 2025-26 as the experienced midfielder is set to sign a one-year deal with Inter’s city rivals Milan.
“It’ll be amazing if he signs. Playing a derby against Modric would be special,” said the Inter midfielder.
“We’ve only ever played together for the national team. For us Croatians, he’s simply the greatest ever. Everyone wants to be like Luka. I can’t imagine what it’s like to play against him, but the Milan derby and San Siro are truly unique. When I first walked in for Inter-Fiorentina, I was like ‘wow.’ It’s not a stadium, it’s the home of football.”
Sucic has signed a contract until June 2030 at the Stadio Meazza.

Roma Eyeing Hojlund For Serie A Return

Roma have reportedly emerged as contenders for Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund.
The Denmark international is being heavily linked with a return to Serie A, having struggled to make his mark for the 20-time English champions during a disappointing 2024-25 campaign.
Inter Milan are believed to lead the race for Hojlund, but Napoli and Juventus have also been credited with an interest in a player who is now back in pre-season training with the 20-time English champions.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma are also in the running, but a deal would rely on Artem Dovbyk being sold.
The report claims that Evan Ferguson is close to joining Roma on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Italian outfit are looking to further freshen their attack, viewing Hojlund as the ideal acquisition.
Roma ’emerge as contenders’ for Man United’s Hojlund
Man United would want at least £35m for Hojlund this summer, with the 22-year-old showing his potential during his time at Old Trafford despite struggling last term.
Indeed, the striker has 26 goals in 95 appearances for the Red Devils, which are hardly disastrous numbers, and he still found the back of the net on 10 occasions in all competitions last term.
Hojlund only managed four Premier League goals in 2024-25, though, and the Red Devils are working to bring a new forward to the club before this summer’s transfer window closes for business.
Roma will not play Champions League football next season, but they did finish fifth in Serie A last term, so the team will compete in the league stage of the Europa League.

Is Hojlund expecting to leave Man United this summer?
Hojlund is now back in pre-season training with Man United, and it is understood that the Dane wants to stay at Old Trafford this summer despite his struggles last season.
“I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United,” Hojlund recently told Bold. “I’m looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I’m fully dedicated to the project that’s underway.
“I know I can’t get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030. I expect to play there, so I’m just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season.”
However, the decision may be taken out of Hojlund’s hands if a big-money striker arrives at Old Trafford this summer, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins being heavily linked with a switch to the Red Devils.

Inter Warn Galatasaray On Calhanoglu Fee

Inter have made their stance clear when it comes to a potential sale of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, as the Nerazzurri have warned Galatasaray that the player will not move for anything less than €30m.
Inter set minimum asking price for Calhanoglu
Calhanoglu has been linked with a move away from Inter this summer, with Galatasaray in his native Turkey reportedly pushing to bring him to Rams Park for 2025-26.
Recent reports claim that the Nerazzurri have turned down a bid of €17m from the Turkish giants.
Updates from Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday confirm that Inter have no intention of letting Calhanoglu leave for anything under €30m this summer.
The Nerazzurri reportedly wish to find a swift resolution to the matter, and importantly, Tuesday’s update adds that the club still hopes to move forwards with Calhanoglu as part of the squad.
Di Marzio adds that if the player reports as usual for the start of pre-season training, the club will no longer consider him ‘up for sale’.

Sancho To Juventus? Old Lady Plots Double PL Raid

Juventus are plotting a double Premier League swoop as they look to refresh their squad options after a disappointing campaign.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Italian club are preparing to make an offer to Manchester United for the exiled Jadon Sancho. The Englishman spent last season out on loan at Chelsea, who paid a fine to avoid signing him on a permanent basis and is unlikely to be considered a part of Ruben Amorim’s plans for next season. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Old Lady are prepared to allow Douglas Luiz to move in the opposite direction. The Brazilian has struggled to settle in Italy since joining the club from Aston Villa last summer.
DID YOU KNOW?
Juventus’ interest in Premier League stars does not stop with Sancho. The club have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma as an option to strengthen Igor Tudor’s side in the middle of the park and could provide an upgrade on Luiz. La Gazzetta dello Sport says that the Mali international has emerged as a real alternative to the dream signing of Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali and Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi. The Spurs man has just 12 months remaining on his deal in north London.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Juventus invested huge sums of money into several key signings in the summer of 2024 as they looked to places suited to new boss Thiago Motta’s system. However, the Old Lady’s plan soon backfired with Motta unable to secure consistent results. The Italian was sacked in March and the club are now looking to bring in players suited to new boss Tudor. The Croatian will be hoping the Premier League outcasts can replicate the impact the likes of Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku had at Napoli last season.
WHAT NEXT FOR JUVENTUS?
Juventus are still searching for new recruitments to bring into the club to help power their desperate search for a first league title since 2020. Negotiations with United and Spurs will continue over Sancho and Bissouma, respectively. After being knocked out of the Club World Cup, the Old Lady can now turn its attention to next season’s preparations.
