Lookman Transfer Battle Intensifies Over Price
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is set to leave Atalanta this summer, but it will only be a big money move.
Lookman is one of the top stars who is expected to change clubs this summer. In fact, his exit had already been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano as early as February.
However, Lookman’s next destination still hangs in the air amid links to some top clubs in Europe. The 27-year-old Super Eagles forward has been linked to clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Napoli.
The Partenopei just entered the equation recently, and it appears that they to want to seal the transfer as soon as possible.
There have been reports that Napoli are planning to offer Atalanta €50 million for Lookman’s services this summer.
But according to Italian outlet Corriere di Bergamo, Atalanta will reject their bid. This is as they will only accept €60 million at least for their most-prized asset.
La Dea can be difficult customers when it comes to transfers, and they tend to drain their buyers till the last penny.
Nonetheless, if they don’t sell the Super Eagles star this summer, then they will lose him for free next summer, and that will be a big loss for a club with their limited finances.
Hence, Atalanta might be forced to review their stance if Lookman’s transfer saga drags on and they fail to get a buyer.
