New Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli confirms Igor Tudor will remain in charge of the team beyond the Club World Cup.
New Juventus General Manager Comolli spoke for the first time to Italian media on Tuesday as he was unveiled at a press conference at the Allianz Stadium.
One of the main topics was the future of Tudor.
The Croat was appointed to replace Thigo Motta in March, and his contract was automatically extended to 2026 after securing qualification for the Champions League.
However, Juventus have an option to terminate the coach’s contract by paying just €1m by July 31, 2025 and had previously held talks with Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini.
Comolli, however, confirmed Tudor would remain in charge for the new season.
“I can confirm Tudor will be the coach for the next campaign, beyond the Club World Cup,” Comolli said via Ilbianconero.com.
Comolli has held several roles in football, including Chief Scout and President.
What Comolli said about Tudor
A former Toulouse President, Comolli, had already met Tudor’s Marseille in the Ligue 1.
“The year Tudor was at Marseille beat us twice,” Comolli recalled.
“We laughed about this. I told him: ‘Do you remember what I told you after those games?’ There weren’t many coaches who could keep that intensity and mental strength, and he remembered it.
“He made exceptional work at Marseille, their intensity and mental strength were outstanding that season.”
