Inzaghi: Inter Will Mark Yamal In Barcelona Champions League Tie
Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has warned Lamine Yamal that he’ll be a marked man when his side come up against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Yamal ran rings around Inter in the first leg, leaving manager Inzaghi admitting they had to put three players on the youngster.
Inzaghi was asked about the teenager at his pre-match press conference and offered some insight into how his team will deal with the threat offered by the youngster.
“We have to try to keep the ball from getting to him, but it’s impossible,” he said.
“He will obviously be double-marked, he’ll be a marked man, and we’ll try to pay close attention to him.
“Seeing him live, he’s an incredible talent, truly very dangerous — everyone gives him the ball. What impressed me was his speed of thought; he always knows what play to make.”
Alessandro Bastoni was also quizzed about Yamal and revealed just how impressed he was by the 17-year-old in the first leg.
“He is the strongest I have ever played against. I was impressed by the level he has reached, in terms of ability to create chances he is the best,” he said via Di Marzio.
“How can we stop him? We will have to do as we did in the first leg, double and triple him. Barcelona is not just Yamal, they have an enviable attack.”
Barcelona and Inter shared six goals in a thrilling first leg and fans will be hoping for plenty more entertainment on Tuesday night.
