Dikko Applauds Amalgamation of Nigeria Football Supporters Clubs
National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, welcomed the newly unified Nigeria Football Supporters Clubs to his office in Abuja on Thursday.
Speaking through Mr. Vincent Okumagba, the delegation explained their decision to heed the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) call for unity, promising to work together for the advancement of Nigerian football and sports.
Mallam Dikko emphasized the importance of collective effort, saying, “You must come together and work as a group so that we can achieve the desired goal. When we are all working towards the same goal, success is guaranteed.”
He urged the group to strengthen their unity for the benefit of Nigerian football, particularly in support of the Super Eagles’ quest to secure a World Cup ticket.
“Our task now is to make sure that we get that World Cup ticket. We have to be focused and put all energy to get that done. What is home advantage when the supporters are not behind you as a group?” he added.
Dikko assured the group of the Commission’s full support, pledging to assist their efforts in rallying support for the national team.
In attendance were notable figures, including Vincent Okumagba (President Super Eagles Supporters Club), Hon. Sunday Gulong (President Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club), Amb. Abimbola Ariyo (National Secretary Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club), and other key officials from various supporters’ groups.
