Nigeria striker Isaac Success is thrilled by his transfer to United Arab Emirate side Al Wasl SC after two months in the labour market, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 28-year-old parted ways with Udinese on August 27, 2024, after the Serie A modest side terminated his contract with them by mutual consent.
He was unveiled by the Dubai-based Emirati professional football team on Saturday, who announced the signing in a statement on their official Instagram account.
It reads, “Al Wasl announced the signing of Nigerian striker Isaac Success, 28 years old, who previously played for Italy’s Udinese, as a foreign player to strengthen the team’s lineup for the 2024-2025 season. Success brings extensive experience from European football, having played for clubs like Udinese in Italy, Granada FC and Málaga FC in Spain, and Watford in England. He also shined with the Nigerian national team, earning the top goal scorer title at the U-17 Africa Cup and winning the U-17 World Cup in 2013.”
A notable striker at the international U-17 level for Nigeria, Success has laced his boots for Watford, Malaga, and Udinese, where he mustered four goals in 79 appearances between 2021, when he signed a three-year contract, and 2024.
The 28-year-old will look to rekindle his career at his new club, a part of the multi-sports club Al Wasl SC located in Zabeel, where they play their home matches at Zabeel Stadium.
They are among the most successful clubs in the UAE and Dubai, winning eight league titles since their establishment.
