Napoli confident of signing Lukaku as replacement for Osimhen

Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea contract has a €44m clause, but multiple reports claim that Napoli are confident of completing the deal for around €25m.

Lukaku is the designated heir to Victor Osimhen’s throne at the Stadio Maradona and Napoli have intensified talks with PSG for the sale of the Nigeria international.

It is no secret that Lukaku is Antonio Conte’s priority to replace Osi at Napoli and according to Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta, Napoli are confident of signing the Belgium international for circa €25m.

Gazzetta first broke the news on Tuesday, and Corriere dello Sport confirmed it on Wednesday, adding that the Partenopei already have a principle of agreement with Chelsea.

It is kind of surprising given that Lukaku has a €44m clause in his contract with Chelsea, where he has returned after a one-year loan at Roma.

Lukaku has scored 70 goals in 129 appearances in Serie A and 64 in 95 games across all competitions with Inter under Conte.
