Team Nigeria Battle Ready For Africa Para Games
As the day for the commencement of the maiden edition of the Africa Paralympic Games draws nearer, Team Nigeria are fully prepared to storm the championships.
The Games, which will be held from 3 -12 September in Accra, Ghana will serve as a prelude tournament for the main All Africa Games scheduled to be held in Ghana next year.
According to the President of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), Sunday Odebode, the athletes have been training hard for the Games and they are fully ready for the podium to make the country proud.
Nigeria, Odebode disclosed, will participate in Wheelchair Basketball (male and female), Wheelchair Tennis (male and female), and Amputee Athletics (male and female).
“I can state categorically that the team are fully ready, and we are well prepared for the Games. Though it is not going to be an easy ride, with the level of preparation adequately put in place, our athletes are in fully in top gear, well equipped and prepared for the Games.”, he said.
Also speaking, the PCN Secretary, Isah Suleiman, assured that all hands are on deck to ensure a successful outing for Team Nigeria, stressing that the athletes are in a good frame of mind to make the country proud.
