£900m Deal: Man United agree 10-year extension with Adidas
Manchester United have penned a new 10-year deal with sportswear giants Adidas worth £900million across the course of the agreement.
The fresh terms mark a significant improvement on the current deal, which commenced at the beginning of the 2015/16 season. The new deal is worth at least £90m per season, adding financial security from what is the club’s single biggest source of revenue.
United have seen record sales for the new 2023/24 strips across both men’s and women’s teams. The new deal enhances focus on the women’s side after its reintroduction in 2018.
The club said the guaranteed £900m income over 10 years was ‘subject to certain adjustments’. It is not clear what these adjustments are but the original deal United signed with Adidas stipulated that successive seasons without Champions League football would trigger a reduction in payments.
United’s CEO Richard Arnold said: “The relationship between Manchester United and adidas is one of the most iconic in world sport, forged through a shared commitment to style, flair and, most importantly, high performance.
“With its roots in the 1980s, our partnership has been reinvented over the past decade with some of the most innovative designs and technology in sportswear. We are now looking forward to refreshing this powerful partnership again through the remainder of this decade and into the 2030s.”
