FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Falconets pip host nation Poland 1-0 in friendly

Nigeria’s U20 girls, the Falconets, defeated their Poland counterparts 1-0 on Friday in a friendly match at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg, Poland, as part of their final preparations for this year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

Mary Mamudu scored the only goal of the match in added time of the first half, as Coach Moses Aduku’s charges gained much-needed winning mentality and morale ahead of their first match of the competition against Spain on Monday, 7^th September.

The two-time World Cup runners-up will play their second and final friendly game against the Republic of Korea at the Remes Sports Leisure and Spa Stadium on Tuesday, 1^st September.

After playing Spain on 7^th September, the Falconets will tackle China on 10^th September, and then take on New Caledonia on 13^th September.
