FPL Experts Reveal the Must-Have Manchester City Players Ahead of Favourable Festive Fixtures
With Christmas approaching, Manchester City enter one of the most favourable fixture runs of the season — and FPL managers are on high alert.
Pep Guardiola’s side face Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, and West Ham in the next five matches, making City assets some of the most attractive picks in Fantasy Premier League for the festive period.
Two leading FPL minds — Pras Singhal and Statman Dave — agree: you must have Manchester City players this month.
But who should you pick?
Haaland: The Automatic Selection
Pras Singhal doesn’t mince words:
“Erling Haaland is the obvious choice, and a possible triple-captaincy shout in many of the coming weeks.”
Leeds, City’s next opponent, have conceded 13 goals in their last six league matches and are yet to keep an away clean sheet this season. With two fixtures against Sunderland in the next seven gameweeks, Haaland has explosive potential.
If you’re not tripling him soon, you’re probably doing FPL wrong.
Which Defenders Offer the Best Value?
Josko Gvardiol (£5.8m): The Safe Pick
Pras highlights Gvardiol as the long-term, secure option in defence. He’s reliable for minutes and offers clean-sheet potential in this favourable run.
Nico O’Reilly (£5.0m): The Upside Pick
O’Reilly has emerged as one of the top-value defenders in the game:
-
1 goal
-
2 assists
-
Strong attacking involvement
With Rayan Aït-Nouri struggling in Europe, O’Reilly looks set to keep his place at left-back — though there’s mild rotation risk.
Statman Dave loves him too, but warns:
“Aït-Nouri is back, so there’s a rotation problem there.”
Ruben Dias (£5.5m): The Set-and-Forget Option
Statman Dave is direct:
“The only other Manchester City player I will be getting (other than Haaland) is Ruben Dias.”
Dias has played more minutes than anyone in the City squad except Haaland. With the softest fixture run available, Dias represents reliability — something precious during the rotation-heavy Christmas period.
“Stick Dias in your team over Christmas and not worry about it at all.”
Midfield: Foden vs Doku
Phil Foden (£8.0m): The Safe Starter
Nine consecutive league starts. An average of 86.7 minutes per game.
But — only two attacking returns in that period.
He’s nailed. He’s consistent. But he hasn’t been explosive.
Jeremy Doku (£6.5m): The Firecracker
Five attacking returns already this season.
A lower price.
Massive attacking upside.
If you want guaranteed minutes, choose Foden.
If you want a game-changer with haul potential, choose Doku.
Final Recommendation: Who Should You Buy?
