Palace Face Fredrikstad Without Star Man Eze
For both teams, this game is huge for a variety of reasons. For Palace, it is their first ever European match, whereas for Frerikstad Palace probably represents one of the biggest opponents in their history. Both sides will be looking to secure a result in this Europa Conference League first-leg clash, and these are the teams that the respective managers have announced.
Crystal Palace are red-hot favourites, and they are expected to travel to Norway next week for the second leg, having secured a comprehensive win over their Norwegian opponents. For Fredrikstad, the aim will be to remain in the tie as best as possible and avoid embarrassment.
It is very difficult to look beyond a Palace victory; they are a Premier League side, and their last three competitive results have seen them go unbeaten against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea, which highlights the scale of the challenge that lies ahead for Fredrikstad.
Additionally, Palace have a unique stadium, not one of the modern large arenas commonly seen in England, but rather an old-fashioned enclosed ground that creates a passionate atmosphere, one that can be overwhelming even for the strongest teams.
All in all, Fredrikstad face a daunting task, and for followers of Norwegian football, it is hoped they make a respectable showing and leave Selhurst Park with their heads held high.
