CAF C/League: Nigeria Rugby Football Rallies Support For Remo Stars Against Medeama SC
President of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, NRFF, Dr Ademola Are, has called on Nigerians to troop out en masse and support Remo Stars Football Club in their bid to qualify for the next stage of the CAF Champions League.
Remo Stars will take on the Ghanaian champions in the second leg first preliminary round and need a 2-0 scoreline without conceding to reach the second round
Dr Are said the contribution of the president of Remo Stars Football Club to the development of sports in Nigeria cannot be quantified
“He has contributed immensely to the growth of sports in the country and he is still contributing’
‘“The beautiful thing about what he is doing, it is not limited to football, it cuts across to other sports especially Rugby, which I am the President of the federation’
“He promised to support our aspiration to qualify for the Olympics with the qualifiers holding in September in Zimbabwe
“So there is no better time than now for Nigerians to support the club in making it to the next stage of the competition,” he said.
The former Director of Grassroots Sports in the Federal Ministry of Sports added that he would be at the stadium to cheer the team to victory
“I will be there live donning the sky blue jersey of Remo Stars and I hope other Nigerians can do the same by making the stadium a sea of sky blue which will suppress the opponents before the boys put the final nail on the coffin of the visitor”
Remo Stars lost one nil to Medeama SC in the first leg played in Ghana while a two-nil win in Nigeria would see them through to the next stage.
