Newly Promoted EPL Side Eyes Super Eagles Striker
Newly promoted English Premier League side Burnley have stepped up attempts to sign Nigeria international striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgium side Genk, according to OwnGoalNigeria.com.
The 24 year old is available for a fee of €25m after finishing as top scorer last season in the Belgium league, but Burnley are confident of signing him below the price proposed by the Belgians.
Arokodare has been linked with a host of clubs, but the Telegraph say the interest from Burnley is the most concrete at the moment, and in the coming days they will likely submit a bid.
Manager Scott Parker wants to bolster his squad for the challenge of playing in the English Premier League and he sees the forward, who has four senior caps and a goal for Nigeria as a viable option.
Only recently the lanky striker switched to a new agent in CAA Base, a move many interpreted as the first step towards his exit from Belgium, where he has spent the last two seasons.
