Real Reasons Osimhen Won’t Join Mourinho In Fenerbahce, Full Details Emerge
A recent report has once again associated Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen with a prospective transfer to Fenerbahce, following the conclusion of his season-long loan at Galatasaray, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
Reports circulating in the Turkish media suggest that the Yellow Canaries are keen on securing the Nigerian international’s signature and have made a move to express their interest.
This development stems from Osimhen’s impressive performances in the Turkish Super Lig, which have attracted attention from several European clubs—with Fenerbahce also joining the race.
Why Is Fenerbahce Eyeing Osimhen?
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli and has been in red-hot form, netting 31 goals in all competitions this season. He currently leads the Super Lig scoring chart with 22 goals.
Galatasaray’s fierce rivals, Fenerbahce, reportedly view Osimhen as the driving force behind their rival’s dominance, seeing him as a ‘cheat code’ that gives the Yellow-Reds a significant advantage.
In addition, the Super Eagles star has attracted interest from European heavyweights such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle, Arsenal, and Real Madrid, which shows how valuable he is and is a key reason why Fenerbahce wants him.
Why Osimhen Will Not Join Fenerbahce
Despite the reported interest, a move to Fenerbahce appears highly unlikely. Osimhen has grown close to Galatasaray’s fans, teammates, and coaching staff during his time in Istanbul.
Given the intense rivalry between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, switching allegiances would be controversial and could also be seen as a betrayal.
Such a move would be disrespectful to Galatasaray and could damage Osimhen’s relationship with the club and its supporters, which makes the transfer highly improbable.
