Real Madrid plot Franco Mastantuono loan as Serie A trio battle for Argentine wonderkid

Real Madrid are preparing to send Franco Mastantuono out on loan after a difficult first season in Spain, with Fiorentina, Napoli and AC Milan all interested in signing the highly-rated Argentine teenager.

Los Blancos believe regular first-team football is now essential for the 18-year-old’s development and are actively searching for the ideal club to continue his progress.

Real Madrid ready to sanction loan move

According to Marca, Real Madrid and Mastantuono’s representatives recently held talks and agreed that a temporary move away from the Santiago Bernabeu would be the best solution.

After struggling for consistent minutes during his debut campaign, the Argentine is expected to leave on loan before the end of the transfer window.

Club officials are determined to place him in an environment where he can play regularly and continue adapting to European football.

August is expected to be decisive as Madrid evaluate the best destination for one of South America’s brightest young talents.

Serie A emerges as favourite destination

Although a return to River Plate was briefly discussed, Real Madrid have ruled out allowing Mastantuono to head back to Argentina.

The Spanish giants are equally reluctant to send him to the Premier League, preferring that he continues his development in a league they believe is better suited to his tactical education.

That has placed Serie A firmly at the front of the queue.

Mastantuono’s Italian passport makes a move straightforward, while several top-flight clubs have already expressed interest.

Fiorentina have reportedly made official contact with Real Madrid regarding a loan deal, while Napoli and AC Milan continue to monitor the situation after previously tracking the teenager.

Madrid want the right tactical fit

Real Madrid’s priority is not simply finding Mastantuono a new club—it is ensuring he joins a team that will maximise his strengths.

The club want the youngster to play as a traditional No. 10, where his creativity, vision and technical ability can influence games from central areas.

During his first season in Madrid, both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa largely operated without a natural attacking midfielder, forcing Mastantuono to spend significant time on the right wing.

Los Blancos are keen to avoid repeating that experiment.

Any club hoping to secure the Argentine on loan is expected to convince Madrid that he will feature in his preferred central playmaking role.

Big opportunity awaits

Despite an underwhelming debut campaign, Real Madrid remain convinced Mastantuono possesses the talent to become an important player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A successful loan spell in Serie A could provide the regular minutes and tactical experience needed to accelerate his development before he returns to compete for a place in Madrid’s first team.

With Fiorentina, Napoli and AC Milan all showing interest, the coming weeks could determine the next major step in the career of one of Argentina’s most exciting young footballers.
