Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Savinho as the club looks to strengthen its attack ahead of the new season.
According to reports, Spurs have reopened talks with Manchester City after failing to complete a move for the Brazilian winger last summer.
New Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is believed to be a huge admirer of the 22-year-old and sees him as a perfect fit for his high-intensity attacking system.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that negotiations have restarted, with Tottenham moving quickly amid growing competition for the player’s signature.
Romano stated:
“Tottenham have now reactivated talks to sign Savinho this summer. Initial discussions underway after last summer’s deal collapsed as Manchester City decided not to sell.”
He also revealed that Newcastle United are monitoring the situation closely.
The report adds that Savinho himself is open to the move, which could significantly boost Spurs’ chances of completing the transfer.
Despite arriving with huge expectations, Savinho struggled for consistent opportunities at Manchester City this season.
The Brazilian winger managed only:
With fierce competition for places at the Etihad, the youngster has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular starter.
That situation has naturally sparked speculation over his future, especially with Tottenham able to offer a much clearer pathway to first-team football.
Tottenham’s interest in Savinho also comes after a difficult campaign in attacking areas.
The departure of Brennan Johnson earlier this year, combined with injuries to Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski, exposed a serious lack of depth on the wings.
Savinho’s pace, dribbling ability and creativity would add a completely different dimension to Spurs’ frontline.
At just 22 years old, he also fits Tottenham’s strategy of signing young players with elite long-term potential.
Manchester City reportedly value Savinho closer to £70 million, but his limited involvement this season could make negotiations more complicated.
If the player pushes for a move in search of regular football, City may eventually be forced to soften their stance.
With Guardiola’s era now ending and major structural changes taking place at the club, several squad decisions are expected this summer — and Savinho’s future could become one of the biggest stories of the transfer window.
Many fans believe De Zerbi’s attacking philosophy could unlock Savinho’s full potential.
The Italian manager is known for giving creative wide players freedom to express themselves, something the Brazilian may not have fully enjoyed within City’s highly structured system.
If the move happens, Tottenham could land one of the Premier League’s most exciting young attacking talents before his value skyrockets even further.
