PUMA have officially unveiled the brand-new official match ball for the 2026-27 Premier League season — and it looks every bit as bold as the league itself.
Named the STELLAR NITRO ULTIMATE, the new ball is being described by PUMA as the most technically advanced football the company has ever created for the world’s biggest football league.
The ball is set to make its official Premier League debut when the new season kicks off on August 22, 2026.
At the heart of the new design is PUMA’s innovative NITROFOAM core, a nitrogen-infused foam technology engineered to increase energy return on impact.
In simple terms, players can expect:
PUMA says the technology allows the ball to “fire off the foot” with greater accuracy and power than previous models.
The STELLAR NITRO ULTIMATE is already trusted in elite competitions including La Liga and Serie A, making the Premier League the latest major competition to adopt the cutting-edge design.
The engineering behind the ball goes far beyond appearance.
PUMA introduced a specialized 4+4 panel construction that helps improve airflow and reduce drag during flight. The result is a more stable and accurate trajectory, especially during long passes, crosses, and powerful strikes.
The outer surface also features a rough debossed texture, designed to:
These details are specifically tailored for the fast-paced intensity of Premier League football.
Visually, the ball is impossible to miss.
The design combines vibrant shades of:
These sweeping graphics sit across a clean white base, creating a futuristic look that should instantly stand out under stadium lights and during live broadcasts.
The bold design reflects the Premier League’s modern identity while ensuring maximum visibility during matches.
The new ball will first appear during Premier League pre-season fixtures before making its competitive debut on opening weekend.
Football fans eager to own the latest piece of Premier League technology can already purchase the STELLAR NITRO ULTIMATE online through PUMA Official Store.
With innovation, performance and eye-catching design all combined, the new match ball is already generating excitement ahead of another massive Premier League campaign.
As the Premier League prepares for another blockbuster season, the introduction of the STELLAR NITRO ULTIMATE feels symbolic of football’s constant evolution.
From advanced aerodynamics to enhanced responsiveness, modern football technology continues to push boundaries — and PUMA’s latest creation could quickly become one of the most iconic Premier League balls in recent memory.
