Lagos SWAN Denounces Aaron Akerejola’s Acting Chairman Claim

The Executive Council of the Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria (SWAN) Lagos State Chapter, under the leadership of Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, has issues a public notice to disclaim Aaron Akerejola for paradiing himself as the acting chairman of the association.

In a notice made public by both the chairman of Lagos SWAN, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni and Secretary, Omotunde Bello, the executive says the disclaimer became necessary in order to clarify and correct a misleading representation currently in circulation. The statement reads:

Substantive Chairman

The duly recognized and substantive Chairman of the SWAN Lagos State Chapter is Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni FISN, was validly elected for a second term of three (3) years in a free, fair, and transparent election conducted by the SWAN Electoral Committee (SWANECO) in October 2025.

Advisory to the Public

Members of the general public, corporate organizations, government agencies, and all stakeholders are hereby strongly advised to refrain from transacting any official business with Mr. Aaron Akerejola or any individual(s) falsely presenting themselves as Acting Chairman or representatives of the Association outside the duly elected Executive Committee (EXCO) led by Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni.

Non-Recognition of Unauthorized Acts

The Association shall not recognize, ratify, or be bound by any actions, agreements, or representations made by the said Mr. Aaron Akerejola or any impostor acting outside the authority of the duly constituted leadership.

This notice is issued in the interest of transparency, institutional integrity, and to prevent fraud or misrepresentation.
