Victor Osimhen celebrating a goal for Galatasaray in the Champions League
Turkish football analyst Uğur Meleke has suggested that a blockbuster move to one of Europe’s superpowers would be a logical next step for Victor Osimhen following his sensational form for Galatasaray S.K..
The Nigerian striker has been central to Galatasaray’s Süper Lig title defence while also shining on the continental stage in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen has struck seven goals in this season’s Champions League, including eye-catching efforts against European heavyweights such as Liverpool F.C. and Juventus F.C..
Domestically, he reached another milestone at the weekend, netting his 10th league goal of the campaign in a 3-1 win over Alanyaspor.
His consistency and big-game impact have reignited speculation about a potential high-profile transfer.
Meleke did not hold back in his praise.
“Victor Osimhen, in my opinion, is one of the top five strikers in the world,” he said.
“He’s a player who could be mentioned alongside Haaland, Lewandowski and Lautaro Martinez.”
The names referenced underline the scale of the compliment:
Erling Haaland
Robert Lewandowski
Lautaro Martínez
Meleke also suggested that, at 26, Osimhen would typically be expected to be playing in one of Europe’s so-called “Big Five” leagues.
“Normally, you wouldn’t expect him to be in the Süper Lig at this age. But sometimes life takes a different path.”
According to Meleke, a move to clubs such as:
Real Madrid C.F.
Manchester City F.C.
Liverpool F.C.
would not be surprising given his current trajectory.
He also claimed Osimhen could comfortably feature for Manchester United F.C., Chelsea F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C. or Arsenal F.C. — even rating him above Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.
Meleke further argued that beyond Haaland, and with Kylian Mbappé now at Real Madrid and Lewandowski advancing in age at FC Barcelona, there is space among Europe’s elite for another dominant No. 9.
Despite mounting interest, Galatasaray reportedly consider Osimhen indispensable and have labelled him “not for sale,” placing a valuation far above his original transfer fee.
Whether that stance holds in the face of elite European interest remains to be seen.
For now, Osimhen continues to let his performances do the talking — and if his current form persists, Europe’s biggest clubs may soon come calling.
