LeBron James makes history with a record 22nd consecutive NBA All-Star selection at age 41, proving his legacy remains unmatched.
LeBron James just did LeBron James things again.
At 41 years old, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been selected for a record-extending 22nd consecutive NBA All-Star Game, further cementing his status as one of the greatest athletes in sports history.
Although he wasn’t voted in as a starter this year, NBA coaches named LeBron among the Western Conference reserves, proving that respect for his game still runs deep across the league.
The achievement is even more impressive considering the road he took this season.
James missed the Lakers’ first 14 games of the 2025–26 campaign due to sciatica and entered the season without his usual summer workouts, preseason rhythm, or training camp — something he admitted was completely new territory for him.
Despite that, LeBron has played 31 games so far, averaging 21.9 points per game, while continuing to lead, facilitate, and impact games on both ends of the floor.
“It wasn’t a goal of mine to come into the season, miss the first 14 games and say, ‘OK, I can be an All-Star,’” James told reporters.
“I just wanted to get back to playing the game at a high level.”
Classic LeBron — let the basketball do the talking.
This year’s selection pushes LeBron further ahead as the player with the most All-Star appearances in NBA history. He was also selected for the 2025 All-Star Game but missed it due to injury, making this return even sweeter.
At an age when most players are long retired, LeBron is still competing with — and outperforming — the league’s brightest stars.
Longevity. Consistency. Excellence.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game comes with a fresh twist.
Instead of the traditional East vs West format, the event will feature:
Two teams of United States players
One team of international players
The teams will battle in a round-robin tournament consisting of four 12-minute games, with the top two sides advancing to a championship showdown.
With global stars like Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama, and Giannis Antetokounmpo involved, fans are in for something truly special.
Joining LeBron among the Western Conference reserves are:
Kevin Durant (Houston Rockets)
Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns)
Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets)
Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Deni Avdija (Portland Trail Blazers)
A stacked lineup — and LeBron is still right there in the mix.
LeBron James doesn’t chase milestones — they chase him.
A 22nd straight All-Star selection at 41 years old isn’t just a statistic; it’s a reminder that greatness, when sustained with discipline and evolution, can truly be timeless.
Whether you love him or doubt him, one thing is undeniable:
The King is still on the throne.
