Arsenal Player Ratings Vs Inter: Gabriel Jesus Shines As Gunners Stay Perfect In Champions League

Arsenal continued their flawless Champions League campaign with a statement 3-1 victory over Inter at the San Siro, securing a top-two finish in the league phase. On a memorable night in Italy, Gabriel Jesus delivered a virtuoso performance that reignited the debate over Arsenal’s first-choice striker, while substitute Viktor Gyokeres ensured Mikel Arteta has a pleasant selection headache going forward.

Fast Start, Instant Impact

Chasing their longest-ever winning streak in Europe’s elite competition, Arsenal started brightly. Gabriel Jesus almost opened the scoring inside the first few minutes, narrowly missing Bukayo Saka’s dangerous low cross across the six-yard box.

The breakthrough came in the 10th minute. Jurrien Timber’s scuffed effort fell kindly to Jesus, who reacted quickest to guide an instinctive finish past the Inter goalkeeper. It was a striker’s goal, full of sharp awareness and composure.

Inter responded well and found an equaliser through Petar Sucic, who rifled a powerful strike from 18 yards to make it 1-1. Marcus Thuram later squandered a golden opportunity to put the hosts ahead, blasting over when well placed.

Set-Piece Kings Strike Again

Arsenal regained control through one of their most reliable weapons. From a Bukayo Saka corner, Leandro Trossard headed the ball back into the danger area, where Jesus was perfectly positioned to nod home from close range. Remarkably, the Brazilian only returned from an ACL injury less than six weeks ago, making his sharpness even more impressive.

Inter pushed hard before the break, but David Raya stood firm, denying Federico Dimarco twice to preserve Arsenal’s lead at half-time.

Gyokeres Sends A Message

The Gunners threatened to extend their advantage early in the second half, with Trossard volleying narrowly wide and Saka forcing Alessandro Bastoni into a desperate last-ditch tackle.

The third goal finally arrived six minutes from time. A sublime pass from Gabriel Martinelli split the Inter defence, allowing Viktor Gyokeres to finish clinically. It was a timely reminder of the Swede’s quality and a perfect end to a dominant away performance.

The result confirmed Arsenal’s seventh win from seven matches, ensuring they avoid the Champions League play-off round and reinforcing their credentials as genuine contenders.

Arsenal Player Ratings Vs Inter

Goalkeeper & Defence

David Raya – 7/10
Calm and assured, the Spaniard commanded his area well and made key saves when required.

Jurrien Timber – 6/10
Reliable as ever but not at his very best on the night.

William Saliba – 8/10
Outstanding defensively. Read the game superbly and neutralised Inter’s attacking threats.

Cristhian Mosquera – 6/10
Returning from injury, he showed promise but struggled at times with the pace and movement of Inter’s forwards.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 5/10
Still searching for last season’s spark. Looked short of confidence and rhythm.

Midfield

Eberechi Eze – 6/10
Had moments of quality but lacked his usual sharpness and lost possession too often.

Martin Zubimendi – 7/10
Composed and intelligent in possession, offering balance and defensive discipline.

Mikel Merino – 6/10
Provided physicality but picked up a needless yellow card that rules him out of the next match.

Attack

Bukayo Saka – 8/10
A constant menace down the flank. Created chances and grabbed an assist, though he could have been more clinical.

Gabriel Jesus – 9/10
Man of the match. Two goals, excellent hold-up play, and relentless movement capped a near-perfect display.

Leandro Trossard – 7/10
Not the standout in attack, but still influential with clever movement and an assist.

Arsenal’s performance in Milan was a clear statement of intent. With Gabriel Jesus rediscovering top form and Viktor Gyokeres delivering impact off the bench, Mikel Arteta’s attacking options look stronger than ever as the Champions League knockout stages approach.
