Jamie Carragher Slams Mohamed Salah For “Disgraceful” Outburst And Accuses Him Of Trying To Undermine Arne Slot
Mohamed Salah’s explosive comments over the weekend have sent shockwaves through Liverpool, but former Reds defender Jamie Carragher has now entered the conversation — and he hasn’t held back. The club legend tore into Salah on Monday Night Football, accusing him of behaving disgracefully and deliberately trying to weaken Arne Slot’s position at the club.
Carragher Calls Salah’s Rant “A Disgrace”
Carragher made it clear that he believes Salah’s comments weren’t emotional or spontaneous — but calculated.
According to the former defender, Salah rarely stops to speak in the mixed zone, doing so only when he wants to make a statement. Carragher suggests this outburst was choreographed with his agent to “cause maximum damage.”
He said:
“I thought it was a disgrace. Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst — I don’t think it was. When Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he has done four times in eight years, it’s choreographed to strengthen his position.”
Carragher also pointed out that Salah pulled a similar move 12 months ago, using fan sympathy to push for a better contract.
“He Waited For A Bad Result To Go After The Manager”
Carragher strongly believes Salah timed his attack intentionally, waiting for a poor result to create maximum pressure on Slot.
“He has chosen this weekend. He has waited for a bad result… and he has chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe get him sacked.”
The phrase “thrown under the bus” particularly irritated Carragher, who said Salah has used that line before — and even suggested that Salah has thrown multiple teammates under the bus for years.
He joked:
“He has thrown the Liverpool right-back under the bus for eight years by not tracking back!”
Carragher Questions Salah’s Career Perspective
In a pointed reminder, Carragher highlighted that before arriving at Liverpool, Salah was considered a failed Chelsea signing — and that his stardom was built with the help of his teammates and club environment.
“Before he came to Liverpool, Mo Salah was known as the guy who FAILED at Chelsea. That’s just a fact.”
Carragher also noted that despite being Egypt’s greatest-ever player, Salah has not won AFCON, emphasizing that individual greatness still requires team support.
“No matter how good you are, you need help from teammates, the manager, and the fans. What he said was all ‘me, me, me.’”
What Happens Next?
Salah is expected to be excluded from the squad to face Inter Milan, while speculation over his future grows louder by the day.
The relationship between Salah and Slot now looks fractured, and Carragher’s comments only add more fire to an already explosive situation.
Liverpool find themselves facing one of the biggest dressing-room crises of the Slot era — one involving their most iconic player of the last decade.
