Marley Frohock Training With Arsenal U18s
The Super Eagles’ long-term attacking options may have just received a major boost after Arsenal’s fast-rising forward, Marley Frohock, revealed that he is eligible to play for Nigeria through his mother.
The 17-year-old Gunners prospect, who has yet to represent any country at youth or senior level, has now officially placed himself on the radar of the Nigerian Football Federation — and fans are buzzing with excitement.
Born in Basildon, United Kingdom, Frohock is eligible for England through his father but proudly confirmed that his mother is Nigerian. With no international caps yet, his future remains wide open.
The young forward joined Arsenal’s academy from Billericay Town in May 2022 after impressing scouts in the Essex Cup Final. From there, his rise has been rapid. He signed his Arsenal scholarship in 2025 and even made his U18 debut as a schoolboy during a thrilling 3-2 clash against Norwich City in October 2024.
Speaking on his heritage, the Arsenal academy star said:
“In terms of my family background, my mum is Nigerian and my Dad is English, with a bit of Dutch heritage too.”
Frohock has already trained with Arsenal’s first team ahead of games against Manchester City and Sunderland — a massive sign of the faith Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff have in his development.
His versatility across the forward positions, combined with his improving technical ability, places him among the most exciting Hale End talents.
This revelation also places him in a growing group of Nigerian-eligible Arsenal players, including Josh Nichols and Andre Harriman-Annous, both of whom have Nigerian mothers.
The Nigerian Football Federation won’t need a reminder to monitor this one.
At just 17, Frohock offers the pace, flair, and long-term potential that fits perfectly into the future vision for the Super Eagles.
Asked how football started for him, Frohock credited his father:
“I got into football through my dad. He encouraged me to start kicking a ball, and he’d played semi-professional level himself.”
For now, the spotlight is on his continued growth at Arsenal — but Nigeria will be watching closely, and so will the fans.
