Harry Kane Urged To Partner Erling Haaland At Manchester City Amid Bayern Exit Speculation

Harry Kane Urged To Partner Erling Haaland At Manchester City Amid Bayern Exit Speculation

Former Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has suggested that Harry Kane could team up with Erling Haaland at the Etihad Stadium next season, should the English striker decide to leave Bayern Munich. Kane’s contract with the Bavarians runs until June 2027, but speculation is mounting that he could depart the Allianz Arena at the end of this season.

Kane And Haaland In Blistering Form

Kane and Haaland are among the early frontrunners for the 2025-26 European Golden Shoe, both scoring 14 league goals apiece. Kane has been phenomenal for Bayern, netting 24 goals in just 18 games across all competitions this season. He also became the fastest player in Europe’s top five leagues to reach 100 goals for a single club, breaking records previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Haaland.

Meanwhile, Haaland has been equally electric for Manchester City, scoring 30 goals in club and international appearances, including 19 under Pep Guardiola this season. His absence was felt in City’s shock 2-0 Champions League loss to Bayer Leverkusen.

Why Kane Should Consider Manchester City

Wright-Phillips believes Kane and Haaland could form a formidable partnership at City:

“If you were Harry Kane you could win more silverware at Barcelona, or Real Madrid, why would you turn that down? But if he wants that record in the Premier League, then I think Manchester City would welcome him with open arms. I think even if they only play with one striker, they can rotate with Erling Haaland. I think both players would accept that as long as they were winning trophies. More than that, I think they can play together, because Kane is an exceptional No.10 too, and it would free Haaland up. As soon as Kane has the ball and turns, Haaland would be running in behind and Kane would find him.”

Kane Shows No Rush To Leave Bayern

Despite speculation about a €65 million release clause in his Bayern contract, Kane appears relaxed and open to extending his stay at the Allianz Arena beyond 2027. He told reporters:

“I have almost two years left. It’s not like I’m in the final year of my contract and anyone is panicking. I’m fine. The club is fine. I think they’re happy with me, and I’m happy with them. Those discussions can take place.”

While Manchester City represents an exciting potential destination, Kane’s focus remains on his current team, leaving fans to speculate on whether a Premier League dream strike partnership could materialize in the near future.
