Lawrence Okolie Offers To Help Jake Paul Prepare For Anthony Joshua Showdown

Lawrence Okolie Offers To Help Jake Paul Prepare For Anthony Joshua Showdown

Former cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie has revealed that he’s willing to assist Jake Paul ahead of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s high-profile clash with former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Earlier this week, the long-rumored Paul-Joshua bout was officially confirmed — an eight-round professional contest in Miami, fought with 10-ounce gloves. It also marks Joshua’s first return to the ring since his September 2024 knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, a result that left many fans questioning his next steps.

But while the matchup has sparked shockwaves across the sports market, one man isn’t just talking — he’s offering help.

Okolie Wants To Give Jake Paul A Real Taste Of Heavyweight Firepower

Speaking to ESPN, Okolie explained that he has already offered to join Jake Paul’s camp in Puerto Rico to help him prepare for the dangerous task ahead.

“I want to go help Jake Paul, give him a chance,” Okolie said. “What I don’t want to happen is he gets absolutely destroyed in a round if AJ turns it on.”

Okolie says sparring with Paul will give the American a “decent feeling” of what it’s like to face a world-class heavyweight before stepping into the ring with a 250-pound former champion.

Despite having his own fight coming up, Okolie insisted he’s willing to make the trip for a couple of weeks. Beyond the training, he’s also curious about something deeper.

“I want to know what it is that’s allowed Jake Paul to say: ‘I’m going to get in there with this big guy, Olympic gold medalist, former two-time heavyweight world champion, in front of millions of fans on Netflix.’ Maybe he’s got a secret that I don’t know.”

A Potentially Explosive Clash Ahead

The Paul vs. Joshua showdown continues to dominate headlines in the sports market, with fans divided between excitement, curiosity, and disbelief. For Jake Paul, it is by far the biggest and most dangerous fight of his career. For Anthony Joshua, it’s a chance to reset, rebuild, and reassert his dominance.

With Okolie’s offer now on the table, Paul may be getting exactly the kind of heavyweight simulation he needs — but whether it will be enough is a different story entirely.
