Kylian Mbappe Hits 400 Career Goals But Says It’s Not Enough, Eyes Messi-Ronaldo Tally

Kylian Mbappé recently reached the 400-goal milestone across his club and international career, yet the Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid star believes it’s only the beginning. His brace in France’s 4-0 victory over Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers pushed him past 400 goals for Monaco, PSG, Real Madrid, and Les Bleus.

Despite this impressive feat, Mbappé remained modest, explaining that the figure isn’t enough to truly impress, given the lofty records of football legends.

“400 goals don’t impress people. I want to make my mark in football history, so I have to score at least 400 more,” he said. “There is one with 950+ goals and another with 900+; 400 isn’t enough to stay in the circle of players who shock people.”

At just 26 years old, Mbappé is the second-youngest player in history, behind Pelé, to reach 400 career goals. Now, his sights are set on catching the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have amassed 894 and 953 goals respectively. Interestingly, both Messi and Ronaldo reached similar tallies slightly later in their careers, at ages 27 and 28.

Mbappé’s determination signals that he isn’t just content with milestones—he wants to cement his legacy among the all-time greats and etch his name alongside the sport’s true legends.
