Ac Milan Weighs Santiago Giménez Future As Possible West Ham Swap Emerges
Santiago Giménez’s future at AC Milan is reportedly under review as the club prepares to reshape its attacking options for the January transfer window. European reports suggest the Mexican striker could be part of a potential swap deal with West Ham United, involving German forward Niclas Füllkrug.
The 24-year-old Giménez, who arrived at Milan with high expectations, has struggled to make a significant impact in Serie A, having yet to score in the league this season and missing time due to injury. His style of play has not fully aligned with Massimiliano Allegri’s system, leaving the Rossoneri evaluating whether a move might benefit both parties.
Füllkrug, 31, has endured a challenging period in the Premier League, scoring only three goals in 27 appearances since his move from Borussia Dortmund. Reports indicate that his agent is open to a January exit as the German striker seeks to regain form. Milan see him as a physical, traditional No. 9 who could complement Christopher Nkunku for the remainder of the campaign.
Financially, the deal is appealing: Giménez’s market value is around $29.1 million (€25 million), compared to Füllkrug’s $11.6 million (€10 million), which could make negotiations favorable for West Ham.
As the January window approaches, Milan will have to decide whether to move forward with this swap or explore alternative options to bolster their attack ahead of the second half of the season.
