Christantus Uche Eyes First Start As Crystal Palace Face Brighton In Premier League Clash
All eyes will be on Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche this weekend as Crystal Palace host Brighton & Hove Albion in a Premier League showdown at Selhurst Park.
The Nigerian international, who joined Palace earlier this season, has made three appearances so far but is yet to start a Premier League match. Most of his minutes have come in the Carabao Cup, where he featured off the bench in victories over Millwall and Liverpool.
Uche Yet To Make Palace’s Starting XI
Since joining, Uche has been patiently waiting for his chance to break into Oliver Glasner’s starting lineup. With his energy, ball-winning ability, and attacking drive, fans are eager to see the Super Eagles midfielder get a full runout in the league.
The match against Brighton could present that long-awaited opportunity, especially as Glasner looks to rotate his squad following a busy run of fixtures across competitions.
Crystal Palace Chasing Fourth Consecutive Win
The Eagles have rediscovered their rhythm after a rough patch in October. Following a four-game winless streak, Palace have bounced back with three consecutive victories, including a confidence-boosting win against Eredivisie opposition in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night.
A win against Brighton would mark four straight victories for the South London club — their best run since March — and could see them close in on the Premier League’s top four.
Currently sitting ninth on the table after 10 matches, Palace are just three points behind Manchester City, who occupy second place. That shows how tight the race is behind league leaders Arsenal.
Predicted Starting Lineups
Crystal Palace: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Kamada, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Pino, Mateta.
Brighton: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Rutter, Gomez; Welbeck.
Will Uche finally get his chance to shine from the start? All eyes will be on Selhurst Park this Sunday to find out.
