Trail Blazers Stun Thunder To End Unbeaten Run In Thrilling NBA Comeback
The Portland Trail Blazers pulled off a spectacular comeback to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-119, ending the NBA’s last remaining unbeaten record in dramatic fashion.
Oklahoma City, the defending champions, had been flawless in their first eight games of the season. But on this night, the Blazers showed heart and grit, rallying from 22 points down to snatch the win and bring the Thunder’s perfect run to a crashing halt.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his stunning form, dropping 35 points for the Thunder. The reigning MVP has now scored 20 or more points in 81 straight games, extending the third-longest streak in NBA history. However, even his brilliance couldn’t stop Portland’s late-game storm.
Over in Los Angeles, Luka Doncic edged out Victor Wembanyama in another nail-biting clash as the Lakers outlasted the San Antonio Spurs 118-116. Doncic’s performance once again proved why he’s one of the most exciting players in the league right now.
Elsewhere, the Brooklyn Nets finally secured their first win of the season, defeating an injury-hit Indiana Pacers 112-103. Fans in Brooklyn will be breathing a sigh of relief as their team avoided an early-season slump.
Nikola Jokic was in his usual dominant form, registering a triple-double to lead the Denver Nuggets past the Miami Heat 122-112. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks exploded offensively, scoring a staggering 83 points in the second half to cruise past the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-114.
