Real Madrid’s resurgence under Xabi Alonso is being powered by two midfield prodigies — Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler — whose creativity, work rate, and growing chemistry with Kylian Mbappe are redefining Los Blancos’ identity.
Former Madrid striker Pedja Mijatovic has labelled Bellingham as “the best player Real Madrid has, along with Mbappe,” while also highlighting Guler’s rapid rise and promising connection with the French superstar.
It wasn’t long ago that Arda Guler was fighting for minutes. Now, the 20-year-old Turkish playmaker is an undisputed starter, credited with six assists to Mbappe this season alone. His composure, sharp passing, and vision have made him a vital link in Madrid’s attacking build-up.
“He’s already starting to look like an undisputed starter,” Mijatovic said on El Larguero. “But at Real Madrid, you have to keep giving more — especially until you win over everyone. And I think he’s on the right path.”
Mbappe, meanwhile, has been ruthless in front of goal, netting 18 goals in 14 appearances, with half of his non-penalty goals created by Guler. The duo’s synergy has added a new dimension to Madrid’s attacking flow — fast, instinctive, and unpredictable.
Xabi Alonso, known for his tactical precision, has helped both players flourish.
“Arda is in the process of improving everything,” Alonso explained after Madrid’s 1-0 Champions League win over Juventus. “He gives great meaning to the game. When he’s involved, we have a better team dynamic. I’m very happy with his progress, but we want more.”
Bellingham, too, has been electric since returning from injury. With three consecutive goals, including one against Barcelona, he’s recapturing the form that once made him a Ballon d’Or favourite.
“He’s one of the most complete players in the world,” Alonso said. “He has the quality to build and the determination to finish. That’s why he’s so complete.”
Bellingham brings structure, leadership, and drive; Guler adds flair and creativity; Mbappe delivers precision and power. Together, they form a trio that could define Real Madrid’s next golden era.
As Alonso’s system continues to evolve, one thing is clear — the new Madrid isn’t just about stars; it’s about synergy. And right now, no one embodies that better than Bellingham, Guler, and Mbappe.
