CAF Confirms Venues And Fixtures For 2026 FIFA World Cup African Playoffs
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the venues and fixtures for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoffs, which will determine the continent’s 10th and final representative at the global showpiece.
The mini-tournament will take place in Rabat, Morocco, between 13–16 November 2025, featuring Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Semi-Finals Set For November 13
According to CAF’s announcement, the semi-final fixtures will kick off on Thursday, 13 November across two major venues — the El Barid Stadium and the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex.
The opening match will see Nigeria take on Gabon at 5 PM, followed by Cameroon vs. DR Congo at 8 PM.
A draw will be conducted by CAF on Thursday, 30 October 2025, to determine which stadium will host each semi-final encounter.
Final To Decide Africa’s Last Ticket
The final is scheduled for Sunday, 16 November 2025, at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat. The winner of that clash will move on to the intercontinental playoffs, where they’ll battle for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup — set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
High Stakes For African Powerhouses
With just one remaining World Cup slot up for grabs, the competition promises to be fierce. Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, Gabon’s Panthers, and DR Congo’s Leopards will all be eyeing the ultimate prize — a ticket to the world’s biggest football stage.
African football fans are eagerly anticipating the showdown, as the continent looks to make history with a record 10 teams potentially featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
