Victor Wembanyama Makes NBA History With Record-Breaking Start As Spurs Stay Unbeaten

The NBA has seen greatness before, but Victor Wembanyama is rewriting history at lightning speed. The 7ft 4in French phenom became the first player in NBA history to record 100 points and 15 blocks in his first three games as the San Antonio Spurs extended their unbeaten start with a 118-107 win over the Brooklyn Nets in Texas.

Spurs Survive Scare To Stay Perfect

The Spurs looked unstoppable early on, storming to a 26-point lead at 81-55 midway through the third quarter. But basketball fans know the Nets never quit — and they didn’t. A furious 26-7 run by Brooklyn slashed the deficit to just seven points, setting up a tense finish.

San Antonio, however, showed grit and composure in the fourth quarter. A 10-0 run anchored by Wembanyama’s dominance on both ends sealed the deal, keeping their perfect start intact.

Wemby’s Stats Speak For Themselves

Wembanyama delivered a jaw-dropping 31 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and six blocks in 36 minutes — numbers that sound like they belong in a video game.

The 21-year-old is now averaging:

  • 33.3 points per game

  • 13.3 rebounds per game

  • 6 blocks per game

That’s not just dominance — that’s historic.

It’s even more impressive considering Wembanyama only recently returned from eight months out following shoulder surgery to treat deep vein thrombosis in February. For most players, that kind of setback would slow momentum. For Wemby? It’s just fuel.

Around The League: Reaves Explodes, Giannis Falls Short

While Wembanyama stole the spotlight in Texas, the rest of the league was just as electric:

  • Austin Reaves dropped a career-high 51 points as the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings 127-120 — all without LeBron James.

  • Anthony Davis put up 25 points and 10 rebounds, helping the Dallas Mavericks edge the Toronto Raptors 139-129.

  • Kawhi Leonard (30 points) and James Harden (20 points) led the Clippers past the Portland Trail Blazers 114-107.

  • And despite a monster 40-point, 14-rebound, 9-assist performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks fell 118-113 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Wembanyama Era Is Here

It’s still early days in the NBA season, but one thing is clear — Victor Wembanyama isn’t just living up to the hype, he’s redefining it.

If he keeps up this pace, the Spurs could be looking at their next dynasty centerpiece — and the league, its next global superstar.
