Vincent Kompany Extends Bayern Munich Contract Until 2029 After Brilliant Start
Bayern Munich have confirmed that manager Vincent Kompany has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until June 2029, following an outstanding start to life in charge of the German champions.
The 39-year-old Belgian tactician, who joined Bayern from Burnley FC ahead of the 2024/25 season, made an instant impact by guiding the Bavarians to the Bundesliga title in his debut campaign.
This season, Kompany’s side has continued their dominance, sitting five points clear at the top of the table after an unbeaten start to the 2025-26 season.
Bayern announced the news in an official statement:
“FC Bayern and Vincent Kompany have extended their contract until 30 June 2029. The head coach’s current deal was due to expire in summer 2027. Kompany guided the team to the Bundesliga title in his first year and lifted the Supercup at the start of this season.”

The club hierarchy has been full of praise for Kompany’s leadership, tactical awareness, and ability to blend youth with experience — hallmarks of his management style since his Burnley days.
With Bayern once again setting the pace in the league and performing strongly in Europe, speculation has already begun over the club’s next transfer target. Reports suggest Harry Kane, who has been central to Bayern’s recent success, could be next in line for a contract extension as the club looks to secure its core figures for the future.
Kompany’s renewal signals stability and ambition — two ingredients Bayern will count on as they aim to dominate both domestic and European football for years to come.
