Victor Osimhen Inspires Gift Orban Adams’ Dream Super Eagles Debut In Heartwarming Football Story

Victor Osimhen Inspires Gift Adams’ Dream Super Eagles Debut

Sometimes, football writes its own fairytales — and for Sevilla striker Gift Adams, his Super Eagles debut was exactly that. The young forward marked his first-ever appearance for Nigeria in stunning fashion, scoring just minutes after coming on as a substitute against Lesotho.

What made the goal even more special? The assist came from none other than Victor Osimhen, the same man who once inspired Adams during one of the toughest moments of his career.

From Instagram DM To Dream Debut

Back in 2019, Adams was struggling to find his footing at Norwegian side Sogndal after a tough outing at the U-20 World Cup. Unsure of himself and his future, he reached out to Osimhen — then making waves at LOSC Lille — via Instagram.

Adams asked the Napoli superstar for advice on staying motivated during hard training sessions and difficult games. Osimhen’s reply was simple yet powerful: keep working hard, believe in yourself, and trust in God.

Fast forward six years later, Adams found himself not just playing alongside his mentor, but scoring a goal assisted by him.

“Some Life Scripts Are Handwritten By God Himself”

After the match, Adams took to Instagram to share their old chat and wrote:

“Some life scripts are handwritten by God Himself! Thank you, @victorosimhen9; I am living a dream!!!”

It was a full-circle moment — from a struggling teenager in Norway seeking inspiration, to a national team striker celebrating a debut goal with the same player who once encouraged him.

A Partnership To Watch

Adams and Osimhen were later paired in attack against the Republic of Benin, and their chemistry was evident. The duo’s combination play led to a dominant victory for Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, leaving fans excited about what’s to come from this new attacking partnership.

More Than Football

This story goes beyond goals and assists — it’s a reminder of how mentorship, humility, and persistence can shape destinies. Osimhen’s act of kindness years ago has now blossomed into a story that inspires millions of young footballers chasing their dreams.

From an Instagram message to a goal celebration on national duty — truly, some life scripts are handwritten by God Himself.
