Zaidu Sanusi And Jerome Akor Boost Super Eagles Camp Ahead Of Lesotho Clash
The Super Eagles camp in Polokwane is beginning to take full shape as Zaidu Sanusi and Jerome Akor Akor are expected to join the squad today (Wednesday). Their arrival will see them take part in the evening training session as Nigeria steps up preparations for the all-important World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
As of Tuesday night, a total of 18 players were already in camp at The Ranch Hotel, with more stars set to arrive in the coming days.
More Reinforcements On The Way
USA-based midfielder Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi is scheduled to land in South Africa on Thursday, further strengthening the squad. However, Russia-based forward Olakunle Olusegun is still awaiting his entry visa into South Africa, leaving his participation in doubt.
Countdown To Lesotho Showdown
Nigeria’s clash with the Crocodiles of Lesotho will be staged at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday, with kick-off set for 6pm local time (5pm Nigeria time). The Super Eagles know victory is non-negotiable if they are to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.
With key players gradually arriving and John Mikel Obi’s recent rallying cry still ringing, the team must now focus on delivering results where it matters most—on the pitch.
