Former Referee Sparks Controversy With Health Claims About Victor Osimhen
A surprising and controversial claim has emerged about Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with former referee and football pundit Ahmet Cakar alleging that the Super Eagles star may have a possible lifelong illness.
What Cakar Said
Speaking on Turkish channel Beyaz TV, Cakar suggested that Galatasaray were aware of an undisclosed illness affecting Osimhen.
“I received information from the Ministry of Health regarding Victor Osimhen’s illness. As a sportsman and father of two, I don’t want to discuss Osimhen’s illness,” Cakar said, according to GsGazette.
He added that Galatasaray’s club doctor denied the claim but still insisted: “Osimhen’s illness will likely affect him for the rest of his life. Galatasaray officials are also aware of this situation.”
Why The Claim Is Questionable
While Cakar is a respected figure in Turkish football and was once ranked among the best referees of the century by IFFHS, he is also known for outlandish statements. Over the years, he has claimed Saddam Hussein was alive, that aliens were real, and even that extraterrestrials protected Barack Obama.
This history of sensational remarks has made many football fans skeptical about his latest comments regarding Osimhen.
No Official Confirmation
Importantly, neither Osimhen, Galatasaray, nor Napoli have addressed these rumors publicly. The Nigerian striker has struggled with injuries during his career but there has never been credible evidence suggesting he suffers from any chronic illness.
For now, Osimhen remains focused on his football career, and until official clarification is given, Cakar’s claim should be treated as speculation rather than fact.
